Once again, I'm scheduled to complete my fellowship in the Middle East. My plans have changed slightly but, my research will still compare and contrast various media perspectives and influences.
I first attempted traveling to this part of the Middle East back in 2011; just in time for the Arab Spring. I would have been traveling from Turkey through Syria, Jordan and Egypt. Obviously, those plans had to be canceled because of the uprisings in Syria and Egypt and the devastating war in Syria. In the meantime, I was awarded a fellowship from Fund for Teachers to travel in 2020. Covid 19 made that impossible so I tried again in 2021 but, once again Covid 19 forced me to change my plans. My new 2022 itinerary will take me on a month-long tour throughout Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. As you can see, Israel has been added. While in Israel, I'll be visiting many historical sites and some of the Palestinian areas. I think this will also give me a great opportunity to examine various media perspectives of both global and local topics.
